are you married?

i went to the public library today, to use their computers, and print a file with their lovely laser printers.  all of the computers were occupied, so i was waiting around for one to become vacant.  a little girl was standing in the same area i was and asked "are you waiting for a computer too?"  i told her i was.  she then peered up at me and asked "how old are you?"  "i'm twenty" i replied. "TWENTY?!?!?! whoaaaaaaaa!" she exclaimed, "i'm only ten!"  i felt old.  she noticed the keys in my hand and asked incredulously "you can DRIVE?!" i told her i sure could, and that you can learn to drive when you're sixteen!  then she saw one of her friends and went off to talk to her. two computers became free - one right next to the other. so i sat at one computer, and she at the next.  we were doing our own thing, then again the girl turns to me and asks "are you married?" i just laughed and told her i wasn't.  wow, kids sure can make you feel old.  her reaction to my age however was the best. it was funny, but at the same time i was like "hey! i'm not old!"  haha   and was i married! HA!  i'm far from it!  she seemed disappointed when i told her i wasn't.  i guess she just expected someone that old to be married.

well that's all i've got for today. it's a good one tho.  sometimes i forget what it's like to be a kid - everything seems so much bigger.  until you get there.

ray robinson

it's been a while eh? this past weekend, i went to the celebrate toronto streetfestival with treens and her friend. it was AMAZING! we had such a great time. saw *lots* of dancing, singing and even street acrobats - those guys were unbelievable! we went to the evening concert at yonge and bloor where we saw ray robinson, keshia chante and in essence perform. if you like really good r and b and hip hop, may i suggest ray robinson. that guy - wow. i loved his performance especially! although in essence did give him a run for his money eh treens? ;) haha

on sunday night i saw fahreinheit 9/11, which i thought was really good. a couple scenes were pretty graphic, but on the whole a movie well done.

so, pastor symmonds is getting married - for those of you who know him, and didn't know! that's such exciting news, and i wish the happy couple all the best!!

the thunder and lightning last night was so crazy! every crack of thunder i swear was getting louder and louder, i was convinced i was sleeping outside. i do enjoy a good thunderstorm when inside the house, but usually when i'm awake already! the lightning lit up my room as if i had gotten up and turned on the lights myself. it was cool. :)

well i don't think i got anything else to write.. just blabbing while waiting for my mushroom chicken to be taken out of the oven.. guess i'll go and do something actually constructive to my life. later.

recyclable? not so my friend.

you're all probably good citizens, right? i mean, we all recycle - paper, cans, plastic, glass, you know, all the right stuff. well, most of the right stuff. glass my friends is not recyclable! the recycling plants actually pay people to take it to the landfill. you see, clear glass has some recyclable value, however coloured glass does not. the problem lies in the plants, who crush clear AND coloured bottles together, therefore 'contaminating' the clear glass and rendering it valueless. (is that a word?) so they just throw it out! i thought glass bottles were definitely recyled, but it turns out there is no market for recycled glass. aluminum gets the biggest return on recycling because it is actually better to make aluminium with used material. so my friends, think twice before you throw that empty bottle of spaghetti sauce into the recycling bin, you may as well save the recycling people some trouble and throw it in the garbage.

more of our waste secrets are yet to be uncovered. i'll keep you posted as my course continues. :)

secondly, am i mistaken or are rat tails coming back into style?? i saw two little boys today at the eaton centre with rat tails. what is that about? keep your eyes open and let me know if this was simply an isolated experience, or if the phenomenon is once again sweeping the nation!

qcard woes

it's that time of year that my fellow queen's students dread. that's right folks, registration on qcard. the most frustrating day of everyone's life. it's about enough to send a perfectly reasonable person insane. i have been sitting here for an hour and thiry eight minutes trying in vain to get on. i have acheived nothing - nothing!! not one course has been added to my list. bah. "cannot find server". "page cannot be displayed". right. just find the server already!

well i'm off to the public library, hopefully their computers will deliver.
